Rezept: Banana-Pancakes

Teaser Tuesday #9

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly book event, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

“Are you actually… going to eat lunch with me?” I asked.
“No,” Daphne said, breaking a buttery breadstick in half and dipping it into the spicy marinara sauce on her plate. “I’m just a figment of you imagination. You’re only imagining that I’m sitting here eating with you. Because I’m just so freaking awesome that people daydream about being seen with me.”
– “Touch of Frost” by Jennifer Estep, page 202, August 2011

Nooo, those are just 2 sentences, count again, I’m sure you counted wrong. I didn’t post a whole paragraph. I would never do that 😉

I read this book 2 years ago, but only rated it 3 stars. Now, after reading many WoW-post about the last book of the series, I decided to give it a second try and I really like it. I don’t understand why I rated it so low.

Well, I’m almost done and book #2 is already bought, so I can hop on to that one right away.

What are you reading and loving this week?

The Beauty of Books TAG!

Just found this TAG created by Books And Palettes and thought: Why not do it, sure sounds like a fun idea.

So, first I’m going to thank Books and Palettes for kind of nominating me ;).

Here we go:

Eyeliner: Tell us about a book that defines who you are or that means a lot to you personally, and then show us your favorite eyeliner.
I just love Kiss Of Snow , that’s all. I’m not sure I have a book that defines who I am. Maybe Obsidian because the main character inspired me to start my own blog.
I don’t really have a favourite eyeliner. I have two and I use the one I grap first.

Top one: Catrice Calligraph Ultra Slim Eyeliner Pen   Bottom one: p2 luxurious eyeliner pen

Mascara: You can’t leave the house without mascara. It brightens your eyes and makes you look more awake after a night of not-so-much sleep. What’s one book you stayed up late to read? Then, show us your favorite mascara.

Night Unbound was the latest book for which I stayed up late. (My Review can be found here) and my favourite mascara is by Catrice as well and is called Lashes to Kill (waterproof).

Lip Balm: The best lip balms are sweet and smooth. Give us a sweet, easy read. Then, show us your favorite lip balm.
I’m not sure I own a sweet and easy read, but I love Agnes and the Hitman, it never fails to amuse me. I use two lip balms, both are from Blistex, the left one is strawberry-flavoured and the right one mango. One is always in the pocket of my jacket and the other in my bag.

Concealer: A book you are embarrassed to say you’ve read or own.
I’m not embarrassed of what I read, because I chose to read it. It was my decision and I refuse to feel shame for the books I read and love. (Also I’m really critical when it comes to books so I try to choose wisely ;)).

Nail Polish: Nail polish is like an accessory. Show us a book with a beautiful cover. Then, show us what is on your nails, if anything.
Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder and normally I would post a cover with a naked, male chest but I’m pretty sure that’s not what this is about. So I chose the cover of My Soul to Take, I just love the colourplay and it’s the nicest, chestfree cover I could find 😉
My nails are currently a dark gray, the polish is from Kiko and called “graphite gray”.

Sunscreen: Sunscreen goes hand in hand with the beach. Show us a book that takes place at or near a beach. Also, what are your favorite beach reads?
A book that takes place at or near a beach, oh my god, that’s a hard one. Does the bayou count, because Night Game is the only book I can think of that takes place near any kind of water.
My favourite beach reads are usually light reads, where I don’t have to think to much and don’t need to pay all my attention.

Makeup Remover: Sometimes the look you create is disappointing, so you break out the makeup remover to clear the evidence. What is a book you wanted to like that ended up disappointing you?
Burn for me ended up disappointing me, which is really sad because I normally love books written by Cynthia Eden. I just couldn’t get into the story and I couldn’t connect with the main characters.

This ended up being messier than I thought it would be – to many pictures – but it was fun :).

I would like to nominate
Sound Of A Voice
Everything Nyze

and if you want to participate and I didn’t mention you, just say so in the comments, leave your link and I will link to you in my post 🙂

Teaser Tuesday #8

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly book event, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

All I’d had to eat since breakfast yesterday was vampire blood.I wasn’t about to get in the habit of blood being the main staple of my diet.
– Once Burned (deutsch: Dunkle Flammen der Leidenschaft) by Jeaniene Frost, page 166, Juli 2012

Once Burned is the first installment of the Night Prince-series, which is a spin-off of The Night Huntress-series. Normally I’m not a big fan of spin-offs (books), but since it’s Vlad we’re talking about, I had to read the book.
Vlad – don’t call him Dracula – is a vampir, really cool and he can control fire. Leila, the protagonist, is really symphatic and her abilities are awesome (except for the don’t-touch-people-part).
I’m doing a reread of Once Burned because I kind of don’t want to read another book White Hot Kiss.
[Edit: FYI It’s Leila who has to drink the blood, it is the only thing that’s keeping her alive, she’s human]

Top 3 – my glorious playlist #8

Auf ein Neues:

Frozen – Let It Go (Multilanguage!)

Erin McCarley – Re-Arrange It

Ernsthaft: Nicht lesen! Sagt nicht, ich hätte euch nicht gewarnt.

Blurb: A trip to the mall gives Shelby the shock of her life when she finds an extra five million dollars in the bank account Uncle Joey set up for her. She thought he was out of her life for good, but with this fast money, she’s not so sure. Now she must decide if she will tell her husband the truth that she can still read people’s minds. Including his. How will he feel when he finds out she lied to him?
When the Mexican Police tell her that Uncle Joey’s been kidnapped and look to her for the ransom, she knows she’s in big trouble. As if that isn’t enough the police detective she worked with needs her help to solve a case, and she unwittingly becomes a witness to murder. In her fight to stay alive, she finds that everyone wants a piece of the money, and just how far they will go to get it, can be a matter of life and death. She just hopes it’s not hers.

Genre: Fantasy, Chick-Lit
Serie: Shelby Nichols Adventures #2
Erscheinungsdatum: 19. November 2011
Cliffhanger: Nein
HEA/Happy End: Sie ist schon verheiratet, außerdem ist dies keine Romanze, also nein

“Waiting on” Wednesday #1

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week I’m waiting for:

Archangel’s Shadow by Nalini Singh

Publication date: Oktober 28, 2014

Blurb: In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot—should not—be walking the streets.
This hunt must be undertaken with stealth and without alerting their people. It must be handled by those who can become shadows themselves…
Ash is a gifted tracker and a woman cursed with the ability to sense the secrets of anyone she touches. But there’s one man she knows all too well without a single instant of skin contact: Janvier, the dangerously sexy Cajun vampire who has fascinated and infuriated her for years. Now, as they track down a merciless killer, their cat-and-mouse game of flirtation and provocation has turned into a profound one of the heart. And this time, it is Ash’s secret, dark and terrible, that threatens to destroy them both.

I’ve been dying to read the story of Ash and Janvier since Angel’s Pawn, which was really unsatisfying -> no happy end between Ash and Janvier :(.

So I’m eager to finally read the full story.

It is already the 28th? No?…. why?

What book are you awaiting this wednesday?

– Emalie

PS. Feel free to correct any mistakes I made 🙂
