BannerI decided to combine the Teaser Tuesday, hosted by MizB from A Daily Rhythm, with the First Chapter ~ First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, hosted by Bibliophile By the Sea.

Today I decided to feature The Young Elites By Marie Lu.

I borrowed it from my library and I’m halfway through, but I have to confess I’m kind of bored by it.

Opening:

I’m going to die tomorrow morning.
That’s what the Inquisitors tell me, anyway, when they visit my cell. I’ve been in here for weeks – I know this only because I’ve been counting the number of times my meals come.
One day. Two meals.
Four days. A week.
Two weeks.
Three.
I stopped counting after that.

Teaser from my current pages (pages 183):

People listen in grim silence. Others start to shout along, raising their fists in response. Behind Teren are three young Malfettos – one of them barely out of childhood.

It’s a shame it’s not better because the first paragraph and the teaser are good! If I’m not reading required to finish a book, I’ll give up on it. Too many good books out there.

My Teaser Tuesday is a fast-paced vampire book, if you like the genre. If you have a couple hours, it’s a “read in one sitting” book. Kantara by Katy Walters: http://www.foofynotfoofy.com/foofynotfoofy/2015/6/16/teaser-tuesday-and-review-kantara-by-katy-walters

I hate when a book slumps in the middle. Once, I spent six months promising myself I’d finish a book I’d gotten bored with. Finally accepted that it wasn’t going to happen.

    • I know the feeling. I will give it another 50 pages, should it get any better, I will for sure quit it. I hate spending time on a book I really have no interest in.
