Synopsis:

In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). ~ My Review ~

Divergent was one of those books I swore I would never read, but after finally watching the movie I just had to. I NEEDED to read it. As soon as possible.

Because that movie was absolutely fucking brilliant. I had a movie hangover for so long. I had to watched it thrice, before I would even think about starting something new. I was just so…

I “read” the german audio book, which sadly was shortened (why do you do that?), but it was fabulous.

The narrator’s voice was so lovely and could really grasped the characters. She did different tones for each of them and I never had a problem with figuring out what character was currently talking.

Now back to the book.

A lot of people said that this was pretty similar to The Hunger Games, which is THE one reason why I haven’t picked up Divergent till now. I absolutely dreaded The Hunger Games, because… come on, kids that are killing each other so the rich could have a little fun now and then. I don’t think so.

But gladly the movie made me decide to give this one a try nonetheless.

I was surprised how similiar the movie was in comparison to the book. I really liked that.

I loved Tris in the book and the movie. She was a heroine I could actually like (not like Katniss, sorry Hunger Games-fans) and connect with.

Then there was Four. I immediately was drawn to him. He’s just so swoonworthy.

Also because I had already watched the movie all I could see was Theo James. Let’s take a minute to appreciate Theo James’ hotness, ok guys. Be prepared. Here it comes.

Sadly he’s a little bit to old for me, but I wouldn’t say “No” should you offer him to me 😉

Ok, what was I doing again…? Right, Divergent review.

Basically all you need to know is that I loved the book and I normally hate dystopians. I give them chance after chance and they always disappoint me, but not Divergent. No, it made me so happy and I already got the second audio book from the library, but I kind of don’t want to start it, since they changed the narrator 😦 Why do you do that?

Give it a try if you like dystopians, or at least watch the movie? 😉
