[Award] Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers – Take Three

I was tagged for this award by Jo from Bookloversblog. Check out her post here. Thanks 🙂

This is the third time I was tagged for this one, but since it says nowhere that I’m only allowed to do this once, here we go again 🙂 *starts to sing the Pixie Lott song*

Check out my previous posts here: #1 & #2.

Jo’s Questions

1. Do you DNF books? Or are you like me and find it really hard to, so you just push through to the end even if you hate the book and it takes you forever?

Yes, I can say without feeling guilty about it that I dnf books. I won’t read books till the end that bore me to death. I can use that time better.

2. What movie can you watch over and over again and still love?

Avengers or Divergent.

3. Do you reread books? Why? Why not if you don’t?

Yes, because I loved them, duh! I usually re-read books when I’m unsure what to read next or when I’m in a reading slump.

4. What is the most shocking book ending you’ve ever read? (You can just say the book if you don’t want to get spoilery!)

Hmmm… Nice question. I can only think of books whose endings I did not like, because those were cliffhangers, but were they shocking…? Not really. Nope, sorry, I have to skip this question.

5. Is there a specific book that got you into reading?

I just copy and pasted my answer from a previous award 😉

I was one of those children whose parents read to them every night before sleep, so I was always interested in reading.

One of the first books I read by myself was probably “Die Wilden Hühner” (eng. The Summer Gang) by Cornelia Funke. I even have the audio books of those somewhere in a box in my room.

6. What is your most hated book? Why?

Don’t even get me started, just check my DNF or Never Again folder on my Goodreads page. I basically hated every one of those, because they either bored me to death, were just plain old weird, really bad written or really bad.

7. What was the last book that surprised you by how much you liked it?

Surprisingly Divergent 🙂 I’m really not into dystopians, but after watching the movie I had to “read” it (I listened to the audio book) and I loved it.

8. Do you have a specific genre that you like to read from more than others? Or do you try a little bit of everything? Are there any genres you won’t read from?

I hate, hate, hate hardcore romances, where nothing more than the romance happens. I can’t stand any of the Nicholas Sparks books. They are just way too cheesy for me.

I like basically everything, except horror, that has some paranormal elements in it, but I try a little bit of everything. I don’t want to get bored by the paranormal books.

9. If you could be any character from a book, who would you chose?

I don’t want to choose a character from one of the books I’ve read. They are always in danger and I like to be in the danger-free zone. I like my comfort of not being chased by vampires for example.

10. What is your favourite Disney movie? Random, I know, but I’m curious!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I don’t know why since it’s such a dark movie when you compare it to the other Disney movies, but I absolutely love it.

The Rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.
2. Put the award logo on your blog.
3. Answer the ten questions they’ve set you.
4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.
5. Nominate ten people.

I won’t tag anyone, but if you still feel like doing it, check out my first post for this award and answer those 😉

[Award] Liebster Blog Award

I was feeling fancy, so this post will be in german and english 😉 english is cursiv, german is normal. Also please excuse my english. It’s late and I’m tired.

The lovely Marry @ Marry’s Bücherblog nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award, so a big thank you to you 🙂

Die Regeln / The Rules:

  • Danke dem Blogger, der dich nominiert hat / Thank the blogger that nominated you
  • Verlinke den Blogger, der dich nominiert hat / Link back to the blogger that nominated you
  • Füge eines der Lovely-Blog-Award Buttons in Deinen Post ein / Put one of the award’s button into your post
  • Beantworte die Dir gestellten Fragen / Answer the question your nominator gave you
  • Erstelle 10 neue Fragen für die Blogger, die Du nominierst / Come up with 10 new questions for the ones you nominated
  • Nominiere 5 Blogs, die weniger als 300 Follower haben / Nominate 5 blogs that have less than 300 follower
  • Informiere die Blogger über einen Kommentar, dass Du sie nominiert hast / Let your nominees know through a comment that you nominated them

Marry’s Fragen / Marry’s Questions

1. Was ist das Hauptthema Eures Blogs? / What is the main focus of your blog?

My blog focuses for the main part on book and sometimes recipes, tv shows, also music which I feature almost every monday.

2. Was sind eure Lieblingsblumen? / What is your favourite flower?

My favourite flower is the Amaryllis. I even had one in my room years ago, but it died… I blame my non-existent green thumb

3. Wenn du ein Buchcharakter wärst, wärst du…? / If you would be a book character, you would be…?

Do I really have to pick one? Two reasons why I don’t want to do that: #1 I can’t make up my mind, #2 Something bad always happen to them. But the question demands that I pick, so I choose Agnes from “Agnes and the Hitman”. She’s just so likeable and her life is really fun.

4. Dein Lieblingsfilm ist…? / Your favourite movie is…?

Armageddon, Einsame Entscheidung, Romea Must Die, Born 2 Die, Fast & Furious-Reihe, Marvel-Filme.

I don’t really have a favourite movie. Just some movies I watch now and then, like e.g. Armageddon, Executive Decision, Romea Must Die, Cradle 2 The Grave, Fast & Furious-series, Marvel-movies.

5. Ich liebe die Serie… / I love the tv show…

At Birth, Grimm, The Flash, Once Upon A Time

That is the worst question you can ask me, because I’m an addict when it comes to tv shows and I can’t pick just one, no matter how hard I try. So I’m going to just name the first 5 shows that come to mind when I think about my favourites: Arrow, Switched At Birth, Grimm, The Flash, Once Upon A Time

6. Warum bloggst du? / Why do you blog?

Gegenfrage: Warum nicht?

Ok, ok.

Counterquestion: Why not?

Ok, ok… Why do I blog… probably because I wanted to and I shared my opinion regarding books with friends longer than I can count. So after I’ve started the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, I started blogging. Katy inspired me 😉

7. Tier oder Pflanze? / Pet or plant?

Definitiv Tier.

Definitely pet. I love pets and have a big male dog and two cute budgies. Plant doesn’t have a long life span around me, I once even killed a cactus…

Do you own a pet? If yes, what’s his name?

Whoops, I’ve already answered this question nearly completely a question ago. Whatever. My dog’s name is Cooper and my budgies are named Sky and Jesse.

9. Was sind deine Hobbys? / What are your hobbies?

I did karate for a long time and I played tennis, but I quit years ago, because of how much time school took. School now isn’t better to maintain a hobby, but I like Pilates, blogging as well reading and watching tv shows. (I know I’m boring ;))

10. Woher kommt dein Pseudonym hier bei WordPress? / From where does you pseudonym her at WordPress come?

Regarding the name of my blog or the choice of Emalie as my pen name? I will answer both 😉 I chose my blog name because I gather books, duh! (I will probably change that name someday, bookgatherer was just the first thing that came to my mind, when I started blogging) and I use the name Emalie, because I didn’t want to use my real name (maybe that will change someday as well) and I react to Emalie anyway. (Wow, this was a long sentence. My old teacher would stone me to death)

Jetzt zu meinen Fragen / Here are my questions:

If you could go back in time, where would you go?

Stunde am Tag, was würdest du damit machen? / Let say you and only you have a 25th hour every day, what would you do with it?

3. Marvel oder DC Comics? / Marvel or DC Comics?

One movie from your childhood you can remember clearly.

5. Welches Buch hast du zuletzt mit 5 Sternen bewertet? / What is the last book you rated 5 stars?

6. Jeden Tag McDonalds oder Spinat und warum? / Everyday McDonalds or spinach and why?

From what thing, that you love, could you abstain the most likely? (Does that translation make sense… not really, I hope you get what I mean)

8. Was ist deine Lieblings-Apfelsorte? / What is your favourite apple type?

9. Eine Sache auf die du besonders stolz bist / One thing you are really proud of

10. Kaffee oder Tee? / Coffee or tea?

Here sind meine Nominierten / And here are my nominees (do you have under 300 followers? I really don’t know ;)):

“Very Inspiring Blogger” Award + 200th Blog Post

Annotation: Winner of my Giveaway for a copy of Unearthly by Cynthia Hand is Freya (Sound Of A Voice). Congrats and hope you enjoy!

very-inspiring-blogger-award-1I was nominated by Diane from Brilliantly Novel for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award a few month ago, but never found the time to collect some facts about me 😉.
The Very Inspiring Blogger award is an award to recognize other bloggers for being just… yeah, well… inspiring .
I wouldn’t call my blog inspiring, but I am still flattered that you would think that. So thanks 🙂

The rules:
1. Thank and link the amazing person who nominated you.
2. List the rules and display the award.
3. Share seven facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their posts to let them know they have been nominated.
5. Optional: Proudly display the award logo on your blog and follow the blogger who nominated you.

Seven facts about me (this was harder than I thought it would be):

1. I probably should have told you this the first time I had to share 7 facts about me, but my real name is not Emalie. Emalie would be my middle name if I had one. My family even calls me this way sometimes, but officially it isn’t my real name. I’m not sure if I should apologize for this fact? I just don’t feel comfortable with using my real name, even though some of you know it 😉

2. I’m a big procrastinator(!). If I really don’t want to do something, everything is more important like doing homework, cleaning my room, rearranging my bookshelf, colouring some pictures, painting my nails…. I think you get what I mean 😉

3. I hate spending money, if I don’t really have to. Yes, even with books! I buy them, but only after a specific plan I made for myself.

4. I was born in Cologne, Germany and I still live here. I don’t think I will ever move out to another city. I just love Cologne too much. Even though I don’t get all the hype about the Cologne Cathedral (maybe because I grew up with it?), but it’s fun to watch the tourists. LOL. Yes, I’m creepy.

5. I’m a natural blonde with green eyes, but right now my hair is brown…-ish. The semi-permanent hair colour isn’t that new. So it’s kinda fading back to blond.

6. I love funny sidekicks in tv shows. My three favourites are Stiles Stilinski (Teen Wolf, played by Dylan O’Brien), Kenzi (Lost Girl, played by Ksenia Solo) and Felicity Smoak (Arrow, played by Emily Bett Rickards).

7. I’m running out of facts… let me think. Ok, I got one last fact. I hate cold weather and I hate warm weather. I’m perfectly fine with 15-20°C.

The Addictive Blog Award

I got nominated for this by Nyze from Everything Nyze. Thanks, honey 🙂 Check out her post.

Here are the rules:
1. Thank the person awarding you.
2. Share a little about why you blog and how the journey started.
3. Paste the blog award on your page.
4. Nominate 10 other bloggers you feel deserve the award.

You want to know how my journey started? Well, I have my blog since August 2014, but I entertained the idea of a blog since way before.
I just never … let’s say: wanted to start, because it looked like a lot of work.

If I had really started a blog the first time I thought about it, it would now be two years old and 100% in german. You must know I used to read books in german back then, but when I got my Kindle to christmas I was like: I understand english and the original books are way cheaper and better, so let’s switch to reading in english. So that’s the reason I’m reading in english.

Now to why I started a blog. Two reasons. First, I used to have this friend with whom I could talk about the books I love, but sadly we grew apart over the last one and a half years, so now – as mean as this might sound – I had no one to share my opinion with. Second, I read “Obsidian” by Jennifer L. Armentrout and thought to myself: If Katy (the main character) can maintain a blog then I should be able to do so, too.

I know I said that I thought maintaining a blog is a lot of work, but honestly it’s not. It’s fun. I found a lot of different people from all around the world who are having the same book taste as I do and I like writing reviews. Even though most of the time I have no idea what I’m doing. I probably need to work on that.

And writing in english can sometimes be quite a challenge. For example I have all these cool sentences in my head and then when I’m about to write them down they’re gone. Like poof. It can be frustrating sometimes. Let’s not talk about grammar, ok?

Oh! And I also like weekly memes, like you might or might not have noticed.

I just noticed that I totally went over bord with answering this question. LOL. But I won’t delete or rewrite it, I’m lazy.

So yeah, what was the question again? Right, why I started blogging. Ähm, to keep a long answer short: I wanted to share my opinion and get to know new people. 🙂

“Sisterhood of the World Blogger” Award – TAKE 2

I already got this award and answered it like two weeks ago, but just monday I was nominated again.
Even though I already have it, I will answer Chelsea’s question. Why you ask? Because I love writing for TAGs and awards.

So thanks Chelsea from Chelsea’s Book Obsession for nominating me 😀 You can visit her blog here.

Here are the questions I answered two weeks ago.

The Rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.
2. Put the award logo on your blog.
3. Answer the ten questions they’ve set you.
4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.
5. Nominate ten people.

1. Favorite book of 2014 (so far)?
Do I really have to choose? That’s so unfair to all the books I liked this year, but okay, ähm… I choose “Unbound” by Dianne Duvall.

2. Favorite Book to Movie adaptation this year?
The only Book to Movie adaptation I visited this year was Maze Runner and I really liked the movie. Haven’t read the book though.

3. Favorite standalone?
I normally tend to read book from a series that can be read as standalones. The only real standalone I can think about right now is “Agnes and The Hitman” by Jennifer Crusie (I have the german version) which is totally not in my favourite genre, but I love it. I’m surprised that the book is still intact, I read it so many times.

4. Favorite series?
Another hard question… If you would have asked me this question 1 1/2 years ago, I would have said “Psy/Changeling”-series by Nalini Singh, but her last two books were kinda lacking something. So I will now choose the “Immortal Guardians”-series by Dianne Duvall.

5. Top 3 auto-buy authors. (Authors that you will buy anything they publish)
Dianne Duvall, Nalini Singh (except her Contemporary / New Adult-stuff) & Cynthia Eden (also except her contemporary books)

6. Where do you read at the most?
I read the most on my bed laying on my stomach while listening to music.

7. Do you use libraries or do you buy all the books you read?
I buy them all by myself or request them at NetGalley.

8. Ebooks or physical books?
I used to be one of those people who were against Ebooks, but I changed my mind. Still I’m not sure how to answer this question, because I like both, but if I have to choose I would pick … don’t hit me – ebooks. I could probably write a whole post about the pros of owning an ereader. (*writes this down on a sticky note* Post in progress)

9. Name 3 books that have made you cry while reading it.
I do not cry, but I might have something in my eyes and it’s not tears. NO!
With All My Soul by Rachel Vincent
One of the book from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
and Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout, but those were frustrated tears – damn you cliffhanger.

10. Name a book character that relates to you in some ways.
A book that relates to me in a way? Hmmm… I don’t really know how to answer this. So I will choose a book that inspired me. That book is “Obsidian” by Jennifer L. Armentrout. The main character Katy made me start with the blogging. Have I not read this book, I would probably still think about starting my own blog.

I won’t nominated anyone, because I already did that the first time I got this award. But still feel free to do it if you want to 🙂

“Sisterhood of the World Bloggers” Award

Due to school and work I was not able to publish my usually friday post, so please take this award as an apology 😉

I was nominated by Diane from Brilliantly Novel for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award.
Thanks for making me a member of this sisterhood 🙂

The Rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.
2. Put the award logo on your blog.
3. Answer the ten questions they’ve set you.
4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.
5. Nominate ten people.

Here are Diane’s questions:

1. Fantasy or Contemporary? Without thinking: Fantasy. I’m not a big fan of comtemporary, usually there is way too much drama for me. Some are nice, but those are the exception.

2. If you could recast ONE character in a movie adaptation, which one would you change? What actor/actress would you put in their place? I just talked about this with Nyze from Everything Nyze. I would switch Jamie Campbell Bower who played Jace in the TMI movie and I don’t really care who takes his part as long as it’s not him.

3. What book has made you cry the hardest? I’m not really the typ who cries while reading a book. I might have some tears in my eyes, but that’s all.

4. What is your favorite kind of blog post? I love TAGs, but they are kind of rare and not a every week thing, so I will pick the TOP TEN TUESDAY.

5. Salty or Sweet? Sweet, definitely. I can’t live without chocolate.

6. What book is currently at the very tip-top of your TBR? That would be “Wicked” by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

7. Do you lend out your books? Why or why not? That depends. If I know that the person takes as much care with a book as I do, then I will lend it out. But if a person, whose books just look bad, would ask, I would not so politely say no.

8. Pick your favorite book. If it were to be made into a movie, what one song would HAVE to be on the soundtrack?: One of my favourite books is Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh and the song that needed to be on the soundtrack would be “Take me or leave me” from the musical RENT. I always pictured Sienna singing this to Hawke. He did want her, but wouldn’t touch her (because of her age) but at the same time he did not allow anyone else to court her. The song just fits.

9. Standalone or Series?: I kind of tend to read standalone that are in a series at least with paranormal romance. I always want to know every story of every couple, so they all need their own book. Regarding Young Adult I choose series – way more fun.

10. Book covers: To judge or not to judge?: I totally judge them, which is just weird, because I have a Kindle and never look at the cover again. It’s just that 95% of the books with bad covers are just bad, so I’m kinda shallow.

My questions for you:

1. What is in your opinion the worst thing people do to books?
2. If you could switch places with a favourite hero / heroine for one day, who would you pick?  From what book / movie / tv show is your character?
3. What was the first video game you ever played?
4. What is your favourite fruit or vegetable?
5. Would you rather be a vampire or a werewolf? Or maybe something entirely different?
6. How many pair of shoes do you have?
7. What is your baddest habit regarding books?
8. Your favourite tv show at the moment?
9. If you could go back in time, what would you like to see?
10. Do you have pets?

I know, I know, these questions are a colourful bunch. I just wrote down what came to me first 😉

And here are my nominees:

Freya from Sound Of A Voice
Nyze from Everything Nyze
Emily from Emilinabooks
Lisa from Bookshelf Fantasies
Kerry from The Roaming Librarian
Sharmaine from Sharmaineloh13
Books and Palettes
Spectacle Aglow

Now I’m off to notify everyone of you 🙂

One Lovely Blog AWARD!

Wow, zwei Nominierungen an einem Wochenende. Spitze  :)/
Wow, two nominations on one weekend. Awesome 🙂

Emily of EmilinaBooks nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Thanks a lot! You can find her seven facts ->here<-

Die Regeln des One Lovely Blog Awards / The Rules of the Award:

  • Verlinke die Person, die dich nominiert hat (schon erledigt ;))
  • Blogge die Spielregeln und präsentiere den Award (tada :))
  • Veröffentliche 7 Fakten über dich
  • Nominiere 7 andere Blogger. Vergesst nicht, den Bloggern mitzuteilen, dass ihr sie nominiert habt.
  • Link back to the person who nominated you (already done that ;))
  • Tell your readers about the rules and present the award (just did that :))

  • Nominate 7 blogs. Don’t forget to tell the bloggers that you nominated them.

7 Fakten über mich / 7 facts about me

I love mushrooms, which is funny, because I could not stand them till like a year ago. I didn’t even liked the smell, but now I could eat them with everything and I don’t care if they are fresh or out of a can.

I’ve never read Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings and I don’t intent to in the future. I like the movies (HP movies are the better out of those two), but I don’t think that the books would be to my liking. There are just not my preferred genre.

I love movies with singing in them, especially the Disney movies, but I hate Pocahontas (bring on the hate) and I only love the animated ones from Disney – sorry Marry Poppins. My favourite Disney movie is The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Yes, I know, I’m twisted.

I have a dog and two budgies, I have no problems with cats and I’m really fond of animals in general.

I would like to call myself a vegetarian, but that’s not true. I’m more like a flexitarian (yes, that’s a term). I eat twice or thrice a week chicken or salmon and otherwise I’m vegetarian. But I only eat this way, because I don’t want to eat chicken and salmon everyday. Those two are the only meats I like.

I like cold weather a lot more than warm. I always get so tired by warm weather.

I have no clue about things related to blogging, except for the basics of HTML. I just do what feels right. My favourite parts about blogging are connecting with different people around the world and of course the gifs. I just love to use them ♥
