Synopsis:

The “smoldering heat, epic romance, and awesome action” of Nalini Singh’s New York Times bestselling series continues as two Arrows find themselves caught in a chilling conspiracy that spans all three races…

Awakening wounded in a darkened cell, their psychic abilities blocked, Aden and Zaira know they must escape. But when the lethal soldiers break free from their mysterious prison, they find themselves in a harsh, inhospitable landscape far from civilization. Their only hope for survival is to make it to the hidden home of a predatory changeling pack that doesn’t welcome outsiders.

And they must survive. A shadowy enemy has put a target on the back of the Arrow squad, an enemy that cannot be permitted to succeed in its deadly campaign. Aden will cross any line to keep his people safe for this new future, where even an assassin might have hope of a life beyond blood and death and pain. Zaira has no such hope. She knows she’s too damaged to return from the abyss. Her driving goal is to protect Aden, protect the only person who has ever come back for her no matter what.

This time, even Aden’s passionate determination may not be enough—because the emotionless chill of Silence existed for a reason. For the violent, and the insane, and the irreparably broken…like Zaira.

Top Ten Of My Auto-buy Authors

If I think about it, I don’t actually have that many auto-buy authors. I’m not even sure I will get to ten authors. So this list will probably be pretty short. Anyway, let’s start 😉

1. Cynthia Eden

cynthia eden

I will buy everything immediately, but I still need to catch up on some of her books, since she has soooo many.

2. Nalini Singh

nalini-singh-author

Ok, let’s be honest for a little second. I will buy everything by her, except her contemporary stuff. Love her paranormal romance books though!

3. Rhyannon Byrd

rhyannon byrd

I already have her new book on pre-order and it’s still 4 month till it will be released.

4. Dianne Duvall

AuthorPic_DianneDuvall

She could re-write the telephone book and I would still read it (probably 😉 )

5. Jennifer L. Armentrout

jennifer l. armentrout

Love her stuff!

6. Jeaniene Frost

jeaniene frost

I’m still waiting impatiently for that book/series (?) she promised featuring Ian. Give it to me!

7. Colleen Helme

Colleen_Helme_2015_Web

So far I’ve only read the Shelby Nichols series, but I’m auto-buying every single book from that series.

……

Ok, guys, I’m done. I can only come up with 7 auto-buy authors, but that’s not automatical a bad thing, right? :/ I love every one of them, that’s for sure! 🙂

[Award] Liebster Award – The Second

liebster

I was tagged for this by Jo from Bookloversblog. Check out her post here. Thanks 🙂

I know, I know. I already got and answered this one, but to hell with it. It says nowhere that I’m not allowed to do this twice. So deal with it, folks 😉 Here it comes.

Jo’s Questions

1. What is your favourite genre of novel and why?

If you would have asked me this question half a year ago, I would have answer with “Paranormal Romance!”, but I’m currently discovering the New Adult and Contemporary Romance genre for myself and I’m quite liking it.

My go-to genre will still remain paranormal romance, just because I like the thought of having vampires and werewolves (and whatever you can think of) living right among us.

2. What are your least favourite tropes in YA fiction (if you read it)?

I’m sorry, but I don’t know what a trope is. I looked it up, but I still don’t get it. Is it like a rhetorical device? Stupid german here.

3. Which book first got you interested in reading?

I was one of those children whose parents read to them every night before sleep, so I was always interested in reading.

One of the first books I read by myself was probably “Die Wilden Hühner” (eng. The Summer Gang) by Cornelia Funke. I even have the audio books of those somewhere in a box in my room.

4. Is there a book that still sticks with you long after reading it? Why has it stayed with you?

“Night Unbound” by Dianne Duvall. I just loved it, isn’t that reason enough? 😉

5. What books would you like to past down to your future (or current) children? Why?

Can I say “Die Wilden Hühner” again? It might not be the best children book out there, but I learned a lot from it about friendship and first love. 🙂 I kind of want to read it now … or I’m going to search for the audio books :/

6. What is your ultimate favourite book?

Nope, next question, please 😉

7. Do you “ship” characters in books? If so what is your favourite ship? If not, then why not?

I’m more like a tv show couple shipper, but I have one ship. Sienna and Hawke from the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh. I knew right from the first book that those two would end up together and I hated/loved that we had to wait 10 books for them to finally get a HEA. I loved all those little snippets of them before their actual book. Just talking about them makes me want to re-read Kiss Of Snow for the hundredth time.

8. Who is one author you’ve always wanted to meet? Why?

Jennifer L. Armentrout. Why? Because she’s Jennifer L. Armentrout, duh! And I love every books by her (Wicked does not count).

9. Do you have any weird bookish quirks?

I’m not aware of having weird bookish quirks… *thinks hard about it*

Probably that I always lend books from my library and then I don’t even read some of them. Does that count?

10. What do you like most about blogging?

The community. Everyone is just so nice and helpful.

Rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.
2. Answer the ten questions given by the nominator.
3. Nominate and link ten bloggers (with less than 200 followers)
4.  Notify all the bloggers you’ve nominated
5. Create ten new questions for your nominees.

Since I already did this one before, I won’t tag anyone, but if you would like to do it anyway, you can either answer Jo’s questions or answer the questions I created the last time I got this. Here is my first post.

“Waiting On” Wednesday #1

a12c9-new2bwow

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill from Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

I haven’t done a post like this for a long time, but I felt like writing one today. Also I will start the count anew

So this week I’m waiting for not only one, but two books 😉 I’m really uncertain with which I will start first next week, because that’s a really tough choice :/

#1: A Sorceress Of His Own by Dianne Duvall

Publication Date: June 02

Synopsis:

From the New York Times bestselling author of the acclaimed Immortal Guardians series comes an enchanting new series full of romance, danger, and loyalty: The Gifted Ones

Since the day Lord Dillon earned his spurs, rumors of his savagery on the battlefield have preceded him into every room, stilling tongues and sparking fear. Weary of battle, he wishes only to find a woman he can wed who will approach him not with fear, but with the tenderness that has been absent from his life for so long. Yet only the wisewoman seems invariably at ease in his presence. Perhaps because she garners the same fear in others that he does himself.

For seven years, Alyssa has been by Lord Dillon’s side, counseling him from the shadows, healing him with her hands, and staving off the worst of his loneliness while his fearsome reputation keeps others at bay. Blessed–or cursed–with gifts that label her a sorceress, she is forced to conceal her youth and the love she harbors for him beneath umbral robes that lead Dillon and his people to believe she is the same aged wisewoman who served his father.

All is revealed, however, and passions flare when an enemy threatens Dillon’s life and Alyssa sacrifices everything to save him. When Dillon discovers that the wisewoman is far from elderly, he is instantly entranced. And, as he and Alyssa work together to defeat an enemy bent on destroying them both, Dillon will risk anything–even the wrath of his king–to be with her.

Ten Books I Plan To Have In My Beach Bag This Summer

I’m more like a mood reader, but I’m 100% positive I will read the following books in the summer.
(Click on the tiny covers to be guided to GoodReads)

Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout
It’s the last in the Dark Elements series and I just need to know how it will all end and who Layla will choose. Let it be Roth, otherwise I’m going to hit something.

Shards Of Hope by Nalini Singh
I have to confess I’m not really prone of those Psy + Psy constellations, I want my Psy + changeling couples back, but I’m going to read this one anyway. Did you know this is probably the longest series I have ever read. With Shards Of Hope it reached 13 books.

Shadow Strikes by Dianne Duvall
I’m so going to devour this. I just loved every book of this series till now and I don’t see that streak breaking. F-U-N ! … Now the Spongebob song is stuck inside my head…

A Sorceress of His Own by Dianne Duvall
This is the first in a new series of Miss Duvall. I’m kind of wary when it comes to historicals, but I will give it a try, because I love her other series. And I’m always trying to find new genres for me, because just PNR and UF gets boring with some time.

Burned by Darkness by Alexandra Ivy
This is a brand-new series by Alexandra Ivy and it will feature dragons, so I’m delving into a kind-of-new supernatural theme for me. The only dragons I have ever read about are the ones from the Eragon series.

Archangel’s Enigma by Nalini Singh
This book will be about Naasir and I really need to read this, because I must find out what Naasir is. Also that guy is adorable … in his be-careful-when-you-touch-him-otherwise-he-will-bite-of-your-hand kind of way. I’m wondering who will be his match.

Deal With the Devil by Cynthia Eden
A season list without a Cynthia Eden books wouldn’t be a list of mine, so here it is 😉 It’s the fourth book of the Purgatory series and I can’t wait to see who Eric Pate’s woman will be. I hope she lets him work a lot before she gives in.

Like I said I’m more like a mood reader, so I will stop here now. 🙂

Ten Books I Want You To Try 05/19/15

Ten Authors I want you to try

Ok, this week’s episode of TTT was a freebie and I’m generally bad at coming up with a theme myself. So Ten Books I Want You To Read was the best thing I could come up with.

1. Carrots by Colleen Helme: I found this book completely by accident. It’s a woman, named Shelby, who was shot in the head and now has the awesome ability to read minds. Also she gets into a lot of dangerous situation and the books are just so funny. And … Ramos is my favourite. He’s just … *sigh*
2. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Found this by accident, too, and I was in love with this after the few first pages. Because, hello? A girl that is a blogger like me (she actually inspired me to start this blog) and hot guys, also … Aliens? Totally sold.
3. My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent: Let me be honest with you, I wasn’t completely sure about this one, but after I’ve read the second one (my edition was a 2-in-1 book) I was hooked and read the whole series in a week.
4. First Grave On The Right by Darynda Jones: I won this book in a giveaway and I loved it. Charley, the main character, is my favourite kind of character. She’s sarcastic, funny, can see ghosts and she has this weird habit of naming her furniture.
5. Last Wolf Standing by Rhyannon Byrd: I actually started with the fourth book in series, but I liked it so much, I just had to read the other ones, too. Because, come on! Hot male alphas and women, who won’t take the shit the guys through on them.
6. Hotter After Midnight by Cynthia Eden: It was the every first book by Cynthia Eden I’ve read and every other book by her was just as good.
7. Show No Mercy by Cindy Gerard: I have this weird obsession with Black Ops guys and if you love action-filled books with a romance try it.
8. One Night Of Sin by Elle Kennedy: Hot MMA-fighter who liked to talk dirty, what else to say?

I just noticed I forget my two favourite of all time authors! Bad me.

9. Slave To Sensation by Nalini Singh: I love the world-building, the characters, the humor, just everything.
10. Darkness Dawns by Dianne Duvall: The characters are just like a big family. Love them all to death.

Bout Of Books Read-A-Thon Challenge 2

Day #2: Challenge by LuLo Fangirl.

Character Face-Off

In her challenge I have to do the following:

Create the ultimate character face-off.

Pick two of your all-time favorite characters. They can be from the books you chose for the read-a-thon (or not — totally up to you).

Even though they are both your favorite, you HAVE to choose one as the winner. And tell me why.

Sell me on why this ONE character is your favorite character of ALL characters.

Character #1: Sienna Lauren

(Psy/Changeling-series by Nalini Singh)

Who: Psy who is the only cardinal X in the world, which means she is powerful and can create and controll fire

Pros: loyal, sarcastic, funny, awesome bigger sister, doesn’t give up, smart, honest

Cons: stubborn, snarky, moody

Character #2: Charley Davidson

(Charley Davidson-series by Darynda Jones)

Who: PI who can see ghosts, because she is the grim reaper.

Pros: funny, sarcastic, loyal, witty

Cons: short attention span, forgives to easy (Reyes!), rude

Winner: Sienna Lauren

Why: As much as I love Charley, I would always choose Sienna over her (sorry, Charley!). Sienna is just so down to earth, smart and she is adorable to her man. Also Charley had absolutely no chance, because Sienna is my all-time favourite character since I first read about her in the very first Psy/Changeling book (again, sorry, Charley!). And then there is this little ability of her to throw flames. I think she would totally help me destroy my enemies if I had any. She’s just that cool.

So, that was the second challenge 😉 and my reason made absolutely no sense, but whatever. I just love her, don’t judge me ;D

Before I forget it, I made a post for “healthy” snack you can eat during the Read-A-Thon, check it out here.
