Kyle found a lawyer for me. He assured me that she was expensive, a pain in the neck, and the best criminal defensive attorney this side of Seattle. She wasn’t happy to be defending a fae, but, Kyle told me, that wouldn’t affect her performance, only her price.

Top Ten Books On My TBR For Summer 2015

Ten Books on my Summer TBR…. I hate making those lists, because I never read all of those books 😉 I had to look up for when to when Summer is exactly. It’s from June 21st to September 23rd, if we can believe Wikipedia.

I intend to read some of the books I have from NetGalley and are long overdue and then the new releases I’m eagerly awaiting.

Anyway, here we go (click on the covers to be taken to GoodReads):

Burned by Darkness by Alexandra Ivy

Publication Date: June 30th
A new series by Alexandra Ivy and it’s about dragon. Can’t wait to read it. Also it will be my first Alexandra Ivy book that I read in english. Till now I’ve only read the translations. So I’m curious to see how her actual writing style is.

Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Publication Date: July 28th
Finally the third and last installment of the Dark Elements series will be out. I can wait to see with whom Layla will end up. If she ends up with Zayne I will stab my eyes out. Also I’m curious to see how the whole conflict in the book will end. But still: Layla and Roth 4-Ever 😀

Shadow Strikes by Dianne Duvall

Publication Date: August 25th
After a good year of waiting I will finally be able to hold the new book in my hands. It’s going to be about Ethan, who I got all the feels for after one hilarous scene in the previous book. Also I can’t wait to find out who the bad guy is, hopefully we will find out this book. I’m dying out of curiousity.

Archangel’s Enigma by Nalini Singh

Publication Date: September 1st
Finally, finally, finally we will get the story of Naasir. I love that guy, even though I have no idea what he is exactly. I just hope his significant other won’t try to tame him, because I love him as he is. But I think I have to re-read the previous book, because I’m not sure what I actually remember :/

NetGalley titles I want to read in Summer

Now I still have two spaces left, I think I’m going to read probably the Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, since I just bought the first 5 books (I count them as one spot on my list. I know I’m cheating ;))

And the last book I’m thinking about reading is Sixth Grave On The Edge by Darynda Jones.

Well, this is my summer tbr of 2015. What do you plan to read? Leave your link in the comment section below 🙂

Book Haul #6 (March 2015)

I got this idea from Freya of Sound Of A Voice and she allowed me to steal it 🙂

Bought Books:

Ally Carter: I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have To Kill You (Gallagher Girls #1)
Patricia Briggs: Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3)

~~~~
Also I finally got a library card, so I kind of went insane and got a LOT of stuff. And I discovered that audiobooks and me do indeed mix if I like the reader. I still do have to figure out if I like the readers of the following reader. Also I will put all the english (book) covers in here, but with the exception of two, I got everything in german. So here is my very first Library Haul.
~~~~

Borrowed Books:

J.R. Ward: Lover At Last (borrowed in english)
Gena Showalter: Intertwined; Unraveled (german: Unsterblich verliebt; Verflucht verliebt)
Chloe Neill: Some Girls Bite; Friday Night Bites (german: Frisch gebissen; Verbotene Bisse)

~~~~
Borrowed Audiobooks:
Jennifer L. Armentrout: Obsidian (borrowed in english)
Kiersten White: Paranormalcy (german: Flames’n’roses – Lebe lieber übersinnlich)
Ally Condie: Matched; Crossed; Reached (german: Die Auswahl; Die Ankunft; Die Flucht)
Lauren Kate: Fallen; Torment (german: Engels Nacht; Engels Morgen)
Lauren Oliver: Delirium (german: Delirium)
Kerstin Gier: Dream a little dream (german: Silber – Das erste Buch der Träume)
Laini Taylor: Daughter of Smoke and Bone (german: Daughter Of Smoke and Bone)
Richelle Mead: Vampire Academy (german: Blutsschwestern)
When I’m going to listen to all those audiobooks you ask. Well, everyday I need two hours to travel to school and back home. So I have two hours everyday to listen to them 😉 I’m probably done with one each week.
~~~~

Also did you know that most of the more popular audiobooks are on YouTube? Or are read by some awesome youtubers, for example (that’s for the german folks) look up crazyLisabooks. She reads the Mythos Academy series. She’s already done with the whole series and I really like her voice.

~~~~
FYI: There will be no Top 3 today, because I’m currently hooked to audiobooks. Obviously.
[Review] Fair Game by Patricia Briggs
It is said that opposites attract. And in the case of werewolves Anna Latham and Charles Cornick, they mate. The son—and enforcer—of the leader of the North American werewolves, Charles is a dominant Alpha. While Anna, an Omega, has the rare ability to calm others of her kind.
When the FBI requests the pack’s help on a local serial-killer case, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston to join the investigation. It soon becomes clear that someone is targeting the preternatural. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer’s sights…
TT #31 / FPTI #19
I decided to combine the Teaser Tuesday, hosted by Jenn (AKA MizB of SBR) from A Daily Rhythm, with the First Chapter ~ First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, hosted by Bibliophile By the Sea.
FYI I shortened the headline, the memes are the same.
Today I’m featuring Fair Game by Patricia Briggs.
Opening (I skipped the prologue):
“Go home” Bran Cornick growled at Anna.
No one who saw him like this would ever forget what lurked behind the Marrok’s mild-mannered face. But only people who were stupid – or desperate – would risk raising his ire to reveal the monster behind the nice-guy mask. Anna was desperate.
Teaser from page 201:
She smiled a little. ” Jude says he loves the kids better than he ever did football. But he coaches the local high school team anyway.”
What are you reading and loving this Tuesday? Leave your link in the comment section below and I will check it out.
Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2014 12/09/14
I saw a lot of people do this meme, so I wanted to give a try too. This weeks theme is: Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2014.
Not all of the following author were good ones for me, but whatever. I will always link to the author on Goodreads.
  1. Jennifer L. Armentrout: JLA is my best discovery this year. I found her because Obsidian was for free and after finishing that one I had to read the whole Lux-series. Then I saw that she published another series called Dark Elements. I’m now in love with that one, too. I might even like it more than the Lux series. Also I did start her Covenant-series, but I’m still on the first page. Good thing though, the series is already finished.
  2. Anne Bishop: I found her Other-series in the beginning of the year, luckely the second one was already out, so I read that one as well. Now I’m waiting for the third in series. But I don’t think I will read her Black Jewels-series, because I’m not into high fantasy.
  3. Felicity Heaton: I only read the novels that were for free on amazon (and still are) and the short stories in my short story collections. I liked the short stories, the normal books, except for one, are not so good (in my opinion)
  4. Allyson James: I have read the first two books of her stormwalker series while I was on vacation in the Netherlands. I liked them but they had a little bit too much sex in them and I’m not sure if I will read book #3
  5. Colleen Helme: I found her Shelby Nichols series by accident. The first book was for free on amazon and had a nice cover, so I “bought” it and I did not regret it. I loved the whole series. Now I’m waiting for book #7.
  6. Kaylea Cross: Her first book was for free on amazon and I loved it, the second… not so much. She is a one-book-wonder for me.
  7. Rachel Vincent: I had the first Omnibus of her Soul Screamer series on my shelf for what felt like ages and I finally read it and loved it. I did try her Bound series after that but that wasn’t to my liking. Still have to try her Shifter series.
  8. Tijan: I read the first book of the Fallen Crest series (was for free on amazon, still is?) and I developed this love-hate feelings for the book. I won’t pick up the second one. No, no way.
  9. Sylvia Day: I only read the prequel short story of her Renegade Angels series, I liked it, and I also read the first book in the series, but… let’s not talk about that, okay?
  10. Patricia Briggs: Okay, this one is cheating, but shhh! I just recently found her again. I kind of forgot that that she writes books. I read the first of her Mercy Thompson books ages ago and then I was preoccupied with something else and just deleted her out of my memory, but I just read “Cry Wolf”. So I decide that this counts 😉
I’m done. That one was hard. I actually needed to consult my Goodreads “read-2014”-list, but I did it 🙂
[Review] Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs
Synopsis: Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack…and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate.
I am normally not a big fan of werewolf novelles, but this one was different than the ones I normally do despise.
