Interview with Rhyannon Byrd, author of Wild Wolf Claiming + INTL’ Giveaway!!

wild wolf claiming1. Tell us something about your latest book. What is it about? What genre does it belong to?

Wild Wolf Claiming is a dark, sexy, action-packed paranormal romance about a hot-as-hell Lycan with a tortured past and the sweet, strong human female he not only wants to protect, but is also determined to claim as his. It takes place in the month of December, leading up to Christmas, and the villains are something that we’ve never seen before in the Bloodrunners’ world. That’s probably about as much as I should say, except that the heat factor is high, the sexual tension is intense, and the emotional connection between the characters is hopefully one that will truly reach in and grab a reader’s heart.

2. Is your book part of a series or can it be read as a stand-alone?

This is the 8th book in my Bloodrunners series, so you’ll see a lot of the heroes and heroines from the previous stories—but I do try to make it so that a new reader can jump right in and still follow along. Then, if they enjoy the story, they can always go back to the beginning, with Last Wolf Standing, and work their way through the series.

3. When does your book release?

On December 1st!

4. Which character of your book (or series) was the hardest to write?

I think each character has his/her own difficulties, but that’s what makes them interesting. When I start a book, I usually feel that the hero will be the most challenging that I’ve ever had to write, and it was the same with Elliot Connors. He had such a sad, traumatic background, one that obviously had a tremendous impact on him not only as a boy but also as a man, and yet, I didn’t want his past to overshadow his every thought and emotion. I wanted to show how strong he was, and the lengths he was willing to go to in order to make a relationship with Skye work, and that hopefully comes across in the story. Despite his efforts, he has some major setbacks, but his devotion to his woman is always at the core of his motivations.

5. If you’re not writing, what do you love to do?

My family and I love to go to the theatre, cinema and concerts, and we’re lucky to live in an area of the UK that enables us to get out and see all kinds of awesome events. In the past month alone we’ve seen Hecuba at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Elf the Musical in London, and Spectre on its opening night. In September, we saw the Foo Fighters and Florence + the Machine in concert, Coriolanus with the lovely Tom Hiddleston at our local Picturehouse, Henry V on stage, and also comedian Michael McIntyre on his arena tour. We also love to watch American Football, though we all pull for different teams, and travel as much as we can. Our family vacation this summer was spent in warm, beautiful Sicily, and it’s now one of my most favorite places in the world.

6. Did anyone inspire you to start writing or did you always know you just had to write?

I’ve always had a love of reading and writing, but it wasn’t until I found Anne Rice’s novels in my early twenties that I fell in love with paranormal romance and knew I wanted to try and create my own stories in this fascinating genre. She remains one of the most talented writers I’ve ever read and I still love to get lost in her rich, intoxicating worlds.

7. Any advice/tips for newbies?

I think the most important advice I could give to any new author is to write—write, write, write—and while you’re getting those words down, make sure you’re working on the stories that you completely and absolutely LOVE. It’s easy to look around at what seems to be the “hot new thing” and think that you should dive right in, but if your heart’s not in the story it’s going to show. At the end of the day, writing the stories for the characters that are truly calling to you is where you’ll find your passion and creativity.

8. Are you already writing a new book? Can you tell us a little bit about it?

I have several self-published stories that I’m working on at the moment, as well as the next Bloodrunners book, Wild Wolf Chasing. This is Max Doucet’s story, and much of the timeline overlaps with Wild Wolf Claiming. Max’s heroine, Vivian Jackson, is Skye’s roommate and best friend, and Max and Elliot are Bloodrunning partners. So there’s a lot of crossover between the two books, which makes things tricky, but also a lot of fun.

9. A word that you use way too often? (Mine are “quite” and “probably”)

It would definitely be a curse word! 😉 I’m only allowed to say “F*ck” so many times in my Bloodrunners books, so I have to be careful not to rely too heavily on other words like “damn” and “hell.”

10. Last but not least: What’s your favourite type of candy, if you don’t mind me asking?

Snickers and peanut M&Ms! Omnomnom…

There was nothing simple about what Brody Carter had to do…With any other woman, it would be. But not with Michaela Doucet. He barely knew the provocative Cajun, but already her beautiful face haunted his dreams. But that had no bearing now that he had to protect Michaela from the Lycans who wanted her dead. Even if this decision would change his entire life. Even if it was pure madness.

Brody had no other choice. He never had….

Then it’s discovered that Chelsea’s sister is being held by a pack of vicious Lycans, and Eric heroically leaps into action. #5: Dark Wolf Runningdark wolf running

In Rhyannon Byrd’s latest Bloodrunners romance, passion and secrets collide and only their love will save two werewolves and their pack.

With his sharp gaze locked on the most magnificent female he’d ever seen, Wyatt Pallaton did his best to hold himself back. Of course, Elise Drake was hardly just any female. Fiery and cool, strong, yet at the same time achingly vulnerable, she’d turned his entire world on its head.

No matter how bloody difficult it proved to be, he was done letting her pretend he didn’t even exist. Done with letting her fight her own battles. Done driving himself slowly into this maddening state of frustrated desire. One way or another, things were about to change.

Come hell or high water, she was done running….

Carla needs Eli’s help, but wants nothing more to do with him—even though he’s as ruthless, domineering and sexy as ever.

Eli hasn’t forgotten Carla. And the partial bite he gave her their last night together has had him lying awake nights imagining her sumptuous curves and supple lips. And the scorching passion that almost consumed him that night. But Carla wants their bond broken, no matter the cost. Now, as he joins forces with Carla to save his pack, dare Eli hope that he can change her mind and claim a future he never dreamed possible?

#7: Blood Wolf Dawningblood wolf dawning

If this was what falling for someone did to a person—what craving them felt like—then Sayre Murphy wanted no part of it…

Ever. She might be young and inexperienced, but she was a woman. And she had finally had enough! Cian Hennessey might be the most magnificent, infuriating, arrogant male she had ever known. But the tall Bloodrunner treated her as if she were nothing more than a child, making it painfully clear that despite whatever connection they shared, he’d never see her as an adult female. After disappearing from her life for five years, the werewolf was back, claiming that she was in serious danger and must drop everything to go with him immediately.

Cian was as deadly as he was beautiful. But the young witch knew he would never cause her physical harm. The safety of her heart, however, was a different matter…

Ten Authors I’ve Read The Most Books From 08/11/15

Ten Authors I’ve Read The Most Books From

I’ve decided to take the “Top” out of the title so now it’s only “Ten Authors”. I wanted to include some authors I stopped reading as well. So here we go.

#1: Cynthia Eden: 39 books(!!!!)

Wow, I’ve just counted them and I’ve really read so many books by her. Oo I’m kind of shocked right now and I haven’t even read all her series completely. I’m still missing like 12-15 books.

By the way I wrote a lot of reviews for her books in the time I’ve been blogging. If you are interested in reading one of those, just typ Cynthia Eden into the search bar.

#2: Nalini Singh: 24 books

I only counted her full novels, no novellas 😉 the number would be a lot higher then. I really like Miss Singh’s paranormal series, but I’m not really a fan of her contemporary series. I’ve read the first one of it and I think I dnf-ed it :(. In Germany we have this saying: Schuster bleib bei deinen Leisten. In english it is something like this “A cobble should stick to his last.” I really think she should stick to the paranormal romance genre.

#3: Jennifer L. Armentrout (16) / J.Lynn (4): 20 books

Can you believe I’ve almost forgotten her on my list! Bad me! Bad, bad me! I love her Lux, Covenant and Dark Elements series and please don’t make me pick between one of them. Her New Adult stuff that she writes under her pseudonym are nice as well.

#4: Jeaniene Frost: 12 books

So sad her Night Huntress series is over, but I’m eagerly awaiting her last Night Prince book. Also I’ve read somewhere that Ian will finally get his own book/spin-off(?). YAY!

#5: Ilona Andrews: 11 books

I’m massive behind on her Kate Daniels series! I apologize. I’m working on it 😉 I loved Burn For Me and I still need to read the last book in the The Edge series.

#6: Lara Adrian: 11 books

I liked her Midnight Breed series up to the point where she started writing her second story arc. After that I quit.

#7: Rhyannon Byrd: 11 books

I really like her Bloodrunner series and I’ve read some of her Primal Instinct books.

#8: JR Ward: 10 books

I actually stopped reading her books a while back, because I wasn’t invested in them anyone.

#9: Rachel Vincent: 9 books

I loved her Soul Screamer series, read the first of her Unbound series (which wasn’t for me) and I kind of liked The Stars Never Rise.

#10: Jennifer Estep: 8 books

I read a good part of her Elemental Assassins series, but I binged on them and that was a mistake, since they are really repetitive. So I stopped. I’m currently in the slow process of listening to her Mythos Academy series and I still need to read Cold Burn Of Magic :/

Ten Books I Want You To Try 05/19/15

Ten Authors I want you to try

Ok, this week’s episode of TTT was a freebie and I’m generally bad at coming up with a theme myself. So Ten Books I Want You To Read was the best thing I could come up with.

1. Carrots by Colleen Helme: I found this book completely by accident. It’s a woman, named Shelby, who was shot in the head and now has the awesome ability to read minds. Also she gets into a lot of dangerous situation and the books are just so funny. And … Ramos is my favourite. He’s just … *sigh*
2. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Found this by accident, too, and I was in love with this after the few first pages. Because, hello? A girl that is a blogger like me (she actually inspired me to start this blog) and hot guys, also … Aliens? Totally sold.
3. My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent: Let me be honest with you, I wasn’t completely sure about this one, but after I’ve read the second one (my edition was a 2-in-1 book) I was hooked and read the whole series in a week.
4. First Grave On The Right by Darynda Jones: I won this book in a giveaway and I loved it. Charley, the main character, is my favourite kind of character. She’s sarcastic, funny, can see ghosts and she has this weird habit of naming her furniture.
5. Last Wolf Standing by Rhyannon Byrd: I actually started with the fourth book in series, but I liked it so much, I just had to read the other ones, too. Because, come on! Hot male alphas and women, who won’t take the shit the guys through on them.
6. Hotter After Midnight by Cynthia Eden: It was the every first book by Cynthia Eden I’ve read and every other book by her was just as good.
7. Show No Mercy by Cindy Gerard: I have this weird obsession with Black Ops guys and if you love action-filled books with a romance try it.
8. One Night Of Sin by Elle Kennedy: Hot MMA-fighter who liked to talk dirty, what else to say?

I just noticed I forget my two favourite of all time authors! Bad me.

9. Slave To Sensation by Nalini Singh: I love the world-building, the characters, the humor, just everything.
10. Darkness Dawns by Dianne Duvall: The characters are just like a big family. Love them all to death.
