I haven’t done a Teaser Tuesday in sooo long. I really missed it.

Anyway here are my two sentences. HAHA. No, sorry, I’ve done more, I could never only do two 😉

He was so accident-prone that Max actually ordered giant-size bubble wrap for the guy as a birthday present.
Jason hadn’t been amused.
I’d laughed my ass off.
Also earning myself a black eye to match the one Jason had at the time.

Hello, hello there! It’s once again Tuesday, can you believe a whole week is already over? What the heck?! Where is the time going? It’s christmas in less than 2 month again! Wasn’t the last one like a week ago?

Anyway, here’s what I have for you this week.

Opening:

Kell wore a very peculiar coat.
It had neither one side, which would be conventional, nor two, which would be unexcepted, but several, which was, of course, impossible.

Teaser from 9%:
Some thought magic came from the mind, others the soul, or the heart, or the will.
But Kell knew it came from the blood.

Synopsis:goodreads-badge-add-plus-71eae69ca0307d077df66a58ec068898

Kell is one of the last Travelers—rare magicians who choose a parallel universe to visit.

Grey London is dirty, boring, lacks magic, ruled by mad King George. Red London is where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. White London is ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne. People fight to control magic, and the magic fights back, draining the city to its very bones. Once there was Black London – but no one speaks of that now.

Officially, Kell is the Red Traveler, personal ambassador and adopted Prince of Red London, carrying the monthly correspondences between royals of each London. Unofficially, Kell smuggles for those willing to pay for even a glimpse of a world they’ll never see. This dangerous hobby sets him up for accidental treason. Fleeing into Grey London, Kell runs afoul of Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She robs him, saves him from a dangerous enemy, then forces him to another world for her ‘proper adventure’.

But perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, Kell and Lila will first need to stay alive — trickier than they hoped.

Opening:
Asgard, Afterworld of the Norse Gods
1213 AD
Pain tore through Loki’s chest, burning through every vein in his body. He roared, his muscles straining against the chains that bound him to the rock. Despite his godly strength, he could not break them. Above him, the great snake draped over a limb tree, drippin venom onto his chest. Its yellow eyes gleamed, watching him as the fluid seeped from its fangs.

Teaser from 11%:
She’d already done so much for him. And lost so much because of it.
She was an idiot. There was no question.

A threat of ultimate evil

Thrown together, Loki and Sylvi must foil a masterful plot that threatens not only their lives, but every god in existence. It will take all of their power, and all of their long-buried love, to face the ultimate danger – or vanish and be forgotten forever…

TT #47 / FPTI #33

The LilypadI decided to combine the Teaser Tuesday, hosted by MizB from A Daily Rhythm, with the First Chapter ~ First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, hosted by Bibliophile By the Sea.

~~~~
Opening:
After a year of slavery in the Salt Mines or Endovier, Celaena Sardothien was accustomed to being escorted everywhere in shackles and at sword-point. Most of the thousands of slaves in ENdovier received similar threatment – though an extra half-dozen guards always walked Celaena to and from the mines. That was expected by Adarlan’s most notorious assassin. What she did not usually expect, however, was a hooded man in black at her side – as there was now.
Teaser from page 20:
When Celaena finally collapsed onto a bed after her meeting in the throne room, she couldn’t fall asleep, despite the exhaustion in every inch of her body. After being roughly batherd by brutish servants, the wounds on her back throbbed and her face felt like it had been scrubbed to the bone.
Synopsis:goodreads-badge-add-plus-71eae69ca0307d077df66a58ec068898
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her… but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead… quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.
~~~~

Opening:

Everyone thinks I’m dead.
I lie with my head on my mother’s lap in the open bed of a large truck. The dawn light etches the grief lines on my mom’s face while the rumble of the engines vibrates through my limp body. We’re part of the Resistance caravan. Half a dozen military trucks, vans, and SUVs weave through dead cars away from San Francisco. On the horizon behind us, the angels’ aerie still smolders in flames after the Resistance strike.

Teaser from page 207:
Costumes are being rolled around so fast it’s amazing they’re not crashing into each other. They give the impression of feathers and sequins zipping across the room with nervous energy. Everybody is visibly jittery.

 Synopsis:goodreads-badge-add-plus-71eae69ca0307d077df66a58ec068898

The LilypadI decided to combine the Teaser Tuesday, hosted by MizB from A Daily Rhythm, with the First Chapter ~ First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, hosted by Bibliophile By the Sea.

Today I decided to feature Angelfall by Susan Ee:

Opening:

Ironically, since the attacks, the sunsets habe been glorious. Outside our condo window, the sky flames like a bruised mango in vivid orange, red, and purple. The clouds ignite with sunset colors, and I’m almost scared that those of us caught below will catch on fire too.

Teaser from 12%:

I felt safe from the angel when he was unconscious, but now that he’s awake, him being wounded and weak is not enough to guarantee my safety. I don’t actually know how strong angels are. Like everyone else, I know close to nothing about them.#

TT #42 / FPTI #30

BannerI decided to combine the Teaser Tuesday, hosted by MizB from A Daily Rhythm, with the First Chapter ~ First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, hosted by Bibliophile By the Sea.

Today I decided to feature Whiskey Kisses By Addison Moore.

Opening:

When I was a girl I’d whisper my wishes and dreams into a jar, screw the lid on tight, and collect them all for someday. My world once had everything – powder blue skies, starry nights lit up like a pirate’s treasure, and wide open meadows I’d run through while taking in vats of fresh North Carolina air. The on a dime, the sun went dark, the stars faded to nothing, and I lacked the oxygen I needed to breathe. The night that my life changed forever, I opened the lid on that silly jar and let all of my wishes and dreams evaporate to nothing into the cold, cruel world I was abandoned in.

Teaser from 2%:

“Leave it to you to balance out equal rights by objectifying the male species.”
“Oh, hon, I ain’t objectifying.”
